Why Choose
Wooden Bi Fold Doors

Installing wooden bifold doors are the perfect way to modernise a property and create an open plan living area. The unique stacking system means the doors can be stored away conveniently either inside or outside of the home to maximise living space.

With lots of opening configuration options Akeley timber bifold doors are practical as an everyday door to the rear of the house, as well as creating a spectacular wide-opening from the home out into the garden. Our wooden bifold doors offer a slimmer frame so there’s less obstruction to your view outside. The timber bifold doors are engineered to provide an elegant appearance while requiring minimal maintenance. Ideal for a new-build, conservatories, extensions or to create a new wall opening, they are designed to let in lots of natural light and let you enjoy the outdoors from inside whatever the weather.

Energy Efficiency

Our timber bifold doors feature the latest weatherseal technology to prevent heat from escaping and keep rooms warm in the winter. Timber offers lower u-values than some other frame materials so you can benefit from lower energy bills. And of course, by choosing timber over PVCu or aluminium frames for your bifold doors, you will helping to reduce your carbon footprint using a truely sustainable material.

Maintenance Advice

To make sure your windows are in the best condition possible, we suggest that you clean them at least every 2-3 months. This will help to prevent any fungal build-up and provide homeowners with the opportunity to check the windows for any damage or coating wear. By using hot soapy water, any impurities can be washed off the window. They must then be rinsed thoroughly with clean water to remove any leftover residue and wiped dry with a clean cloth.

In cases of stubborn dirt, a stronger non-abrasive cleaner can be used. This must be rinsed thoroughly afterwards and wiped dry.

If you see any signs of fungal growth, apply a mixture of one-part household bleach to two parts water. The solution can be left on for 20 minutes, then rinsed off with clean water to remove all residue and wiped dry.
