Colour and Finishing
Akeley timber French doors are available in a range of opaque colours or can be matched to any RAL colour. We also offer a range of natural wood stain finishes.
Energy Efficiency
Our Hardwood timber frames with slim sightlines provide a higher standard of thermal efficiency to achieve the latest Building Regulation requirements. All glazing is either double or triple glazed for high thermal performance.
Maintenance Advice
To keep your French doors looking their best, we advise that you clean them approximately every 2-3 months. This gives homeowners a chance to check for any damage and will inevitably prevent any fungal build-up. Using hot soapy water will remove any contaminants on the doors. After washing, this must be rinsed off with clean water and wiped dry with a clean cloth.
In cases of stubborn dirt, a stronger non-abrasive cleaner such as a bathroom cleaner can be used. Again, this must always be rinsed off thoroughly and wiped dry afterwards.
If you see any signs of fungal growth, you should apply a mixture of one-part household bleach to two parts water. The solution can be left for up to 20 minutes, then rinsed off with clean water to remove all residue and wiped dry.
